At last it is done...A very personal piece (as most of mine are, but this one even more). I evolve a bit in more human anatomy. Thsi isone of the pieces that shot through my mind but didn't manage to grap it for a while.

wayhey, all in all thats pretty darn good ^^ ...that hand could do with being a tiny bit larger perhaps and maybe a little less stiff though. I love the tiara and the sheer on the legs ^^

Thank you very much for your helpfull crits! I lost the distance....Now I see that too! Thank you very much! though again the scanner swallowed lots of detail in the shading esp on the skirt...ARGH!

Obviously a very emotional piece and I agree about the hand. I like your treatment of the color very much.
There is nothing wrong with using photos, especially if you take them yourself.
General art advice is collect references and sort them into categories so they're easy to find, even newpaper pictures are valuable, read every book you can lay your hands on and sketch a lot, there is no substitute for practice...I should take my own advice too.

As long as they are taken as being helpful ^^; I don't mean to come off as mean (though truth be known, I couldn't care less if people saw it that way XD; )
Ah yes, scanners are notorious detail eaters DX Yet, oddly enough, when you're scanning jsut to get some line art up to colour on the pc, it comes up with all those nasty little erased lines and paper grain... blech XP

Thank you!
I know, I sometimes use reference photos for certain parts, or just to see if I was right. I love the feeling when you recognize you got a feeling for e.g. anatomy or things like that. Though I must confess I'm not a fan of sketching...I know it helps but I I don't put much effort into it then, so it gets worse than it could be...My fault *ggg*. And I should start putting sketches of my works up for discussion so I see earlier what is wrong, when I loose the distance to it... Thank you very much for your helpfull comment!!!!

Yes, they were helpful! I didn't take it as something mean. I'm always happy about helpful vrits. I only hate things like "that's bad" or so, cause there's no reason in it. But advice how to do it better or even things like " something is wrong with the hand but I can't get what it is" is ok! It helps me to see.
Yes...is there any scanner out there which doesn#t swallow anything? Though I got nothing against erased lines or so. I can work on it in Photoshop. Better to much than to less when it comes to scanning....

Yeah, people saying somethings bad with no explanation sucks >.>; not helpful at all.
I dont think so, all scanners are the same. Erased lines and such annoy me, depending on if its inked or pencil.

beautifully done! i love the color scheme!
i ususally sketch an idea and then look for refernces and now with the stock da provides makes it much more easier, refernces help me a lot to get anatomy and so many other things right. And i also have this big plastic folder and everything i see in mags that may help me artwise i cut and put away,i should start categorizing though ;)
